When I first started running my company; The Film Festival Doctor, I was working extremely long hours, which consisted of 16-hour days, seven days a week and surviving on five hours of sleep each night. Inevitably I was burnt out, but I still ploughed through because I presumed that there was no other option. However, that all changed when I met Marie Diamond, Feng Shui master and contributor to the very popular self-help book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Marie helpfully pointed out that the colors I was wearing were contributing towards my constant state of stress, fatigue and exhaustion and as such, were subsequently blocking me from attracting more clients, sales and success. She told me that I needed to change the energy within myself and that this was possible and could be achieved using what she called her ‘Quantum Colors’ technique. There’s an easy three-step process to follow. First, you find out what goals you’re looking to achieve depending upon what’s important to you. Next, you use Diamond’s manual to determine which of the 24 colors will help you manifest that goal. And finally, you need to have a belief that the technique will work, or it simply won’t. Quantum Colors are not restricted to only clothing, or exclusively to females. Men and women of all ages and races can apply the quantum colors technique— and best of all, it also applies to beauty and cosmetics, too. For example, when I want to wear my little black dress (which isn’t a quantum color) for a business meeting or event, I know that if I want to activate financial abundance, I need to incorporate gold. And so, I can wear a gold bronzer and a golden spray tan to manifest the intended results. If I want to increase partnerships and grow my team of staff, wearing a fuchsia or pink eyeshadow will help to activate collaboration. Putting on some bright ruby red lipstick will help to activate balance when I want to make good decisions, weigh options and assess potential new members of my team.
